THE PRODUCTION AND THE SOLVENTS NATIONAL MARKET

More than 90% of the solvent production in Brazil are concentrated into the petrochemical central - Copene, Copesul and Petroquímica União - and in Petrobrás - that is responsible for 480.000 m3/year, that represents more than 50% for the national production. The company detains approximately 98% of the brazilian market of petroleum derivatives.

As regards the solvents consumption distribution into the national market, according to data provided by the Petroleum National Agency (ANP) about the product commercialization during the last decade, the Southeast region is to be outstanding as the main consumer (around 70%), followed by the South, Northeast, Central West and North regions.
